Spawned from the minds of Dave Overkill and Matt Flammable of veteran Power Thrash band DESTRUCTOR, VULGAR DEVILS is a bastard child born of raw power and high energy that also features DESTRUCTOR guitarist Mark Hellhound and former DESTRUCTOR bassist Brook Damage. "These songs are a reflection of what I grew up listening to back in the late 1970's and early 1980's" exclaims Dave. This 2nd full length is a great mix of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock that will transport listeners back to the golden years of the 1980's! Simply put, this ROCKS!

Witches wheel construction by Nate Williams and Jay Stone. Cover concept by Dave Overkill. All songs written by Dave Just and arranged by Vulgar Devils.

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
